Multi Level Marketing in Nigeria

The name and the concept of multi level marketing will be received
with mixed feelings by different people. Multi Level Marketing in
plain English can be described as marketing on different levels other
than a single person working alone. There are a lot of programs out
there that have made the concept of multi level marketing in Nigeria
a restricted area because of their experiences with such programs.

I will try as much as possible to explain the benefits attached to multi
level marketing as well as the misconceptions that have been
associated with multi level marketing in Nigeria. There are two major
aspects of multi level marketing, the product and the reward system.
Any multi level marketing program that is not backed up by a product
is a ponzi scheme. This is the first step in identifying a credible program. Continue Reading »

Global Financial Meltdown

I have been listening to the news over the past week and there
seems to be a series of events that have been recurrent on the
news. It started with the food crisis a while ago and now its a
financial crisis that has moved around the globe causing untold
hardship and wide spread panic.

The US president signed a $700 billion bailout fund to help
save the US economy from an impending recession. This has
been as a result of a lot of top financial houses going under.
Former US president Bill Clinton traced the problem to the
early 90’s when there was a crisis in the stock market. Continue Reading »

Forgive

I have not written an article in a while, I’ve been a little busy trying
to put a couple of things together. I had a little get together on my
birthday (1st October) and am working on CV bank, a project that
I’ll throw more light on in a couple of days. I thank God for yet
another year and I also thank all those who were able to make it and
either sent a message or a gift. I really appreciate it.

I was discussing yesterday at a chapter of the Daystar home fellowship
with my cell group. A very interesting topic that really got a lot of
reactions from the house. The main topic of discussion was the benefits
of our covenant with God while the controversial sub topic was
Unforgiveness as a hindrance to our receiving the benefits of our
covenant with God. Continue Reading »

Word for Today.

Hag 2:18  Consider now from this day and upward, from the
four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day
that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider
it.
Hag 2:19  Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and
the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not
brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

I got to the office this morning, sat down and as I was about to
start work for the day something happened. My colleague
rushed into the office and pointed the above scripture to me.
I was amazed. This scripture actually points to today, the 24th
day of the ninth month and went further. It declared today as
the day of a new beginning, the day when the foundation of the
Lord’s temple was laid. A day of commencement of blessings.

Not withstanding the current happenings around the world, One
thing I am sure of is that when God says a thing, He must fulfill.
So welcome to the commencement of blessings upon our lives
for those who believe.

Novella

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white
beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said
“I don’t think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in
and have something to eat.”

“Is the man of the house home?”, they asked. “No”, she replied. “He’s
out.” “Then we cannot come in”, they replied. In the evening when her
husband came home, she told him what had happened. “Go tell them I
am home and invite them in”. The woman went out and invited the men
in. “We do not go into a House together” they replied. “Why is that?”
she asked. Continue Reading »

The Nigerian Blogger’s Conference

Yesterday marked the birth of a new industry in Nigeria.
Though it has been going on for quite sometime, a group
of people have come together to build a structure out of
what seems to be a large industry that has the capacity to
grow into a formidable voice in Nigeria. The venue was
Elomaz hotel, Maryland Lagos. The event was a gathering
of Nigerian bloggers with the intention of exploring the
possibilities of collaborating and increasing the interest and
knowledge about blogging.

The event had in attendance about 80 bloggers as well as
potential bloggers. Coincidentally, a world bloggers conference
tagged blog world and new media expo was taking place in Las
Vegas. The event started with the recitation of the second stanza
of our National anthem which is our prayer for our nation. The
convener, Adeolu Akinyemi welcomed everyone to the event and
introduced himself as well as gave a brief history about when and
how he started blogging. Continue Reading »

Career Path

When I was young, I remember that I was asked this question
a number of times. I believe a lot of us were asked the same
question. “What do you want to be when you grow up”. I
wanted to be a soldier at a point because I loved the uniform
and the order that makes the military stand out. I also wanted
to work in the bank because I loved calculating and ensuring
that things were in order.

I ended up studying accounting and starting up as a business
development consultant in a consulting firm. I am happy with
what I do and I have fun while doing it. The most important
thing in getting a job is not necessarily the money, though it is
very important in making a decision to work or not to work
for an organization. There are a couple of factors that I think
one should consider in making the decision on a career path
to follow. I will outline three of them below and briefly analyze
them. Continue Reading »

The Power of Creativity

I heard a story about a little boy who happened to be visually
impaired. There is so much I learnt from this story and I would
like to share it with you. A blind boy sat on the steps of a building
with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind,
please help.” He sat like that for quite some time expecting to get
some money from passers by who would be compassionate and
hand him some money. There were only a few coins in the hat
after about three hours.

Then a young man was walking by, he saw the young lad and
had compassion on him. He took a few coins from his pocket
and dropped them into the hat. He took a second look at the
boy and the sign and he got an idea. He then took the sign,
turned it around, and wrote some words on it. He put the
sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new
words. Continue Reading »

Networking

I woke up this morning and felt strongly that today will be a
great day. John McCain and Barack Obama declared a truce
yesterday bringing an end to the series of attacks in form of
campaign ads and joined Ground Zero ceremonies on the
seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I can remember the
shock that gripped the world in the aftermath of the attacks,
and the resulting war on terror that gave birth to the War in
Iraq.

We meet people everyday of our lives. on our way to work,
school, or any social gathering. There is always an opportunity
to meet people. Apart from meeting people, you already have
a strong network as an individual. This network comprising of
people you know is strengthened by the people they know. At
this point, you should ask yourself a fundamental question.
Do I belong to any social network? A church,  social club, an
alumni or online social networking (facebook and others). These
are the ground structures for building your network. Continue Reading »

Oil for Guns - The War in Iraq

The middle East has always been a very volatile area. The oil rich
region has been very controversial and is home to some of the
world’s most notorious terrorist groups. Prominent among them is
Al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda has attacked civilian and military targets in
various countries, the most notable being the September 11
attacks in 2001. These actions were followed by the US
government launching a military and intelligence campaign against
al-Qaeda called the War on Terror.

This campaign took them to Iraq where intelligence report
suggested that Saddam Hussein was harboring and supporting
Al-Qaeda. This set the stage for an ongoing military campaign
which began on March 20, 2003 with the United States leading
an invasion of Iraq by a multinational coalition composed of
United States and United Kingdom troops supported by smaller
contingents from Australia, Denmark, Poland, and other nations. Continue Reading »
