Parklane 2

The mysterious Tope Boboye (T papa). He was a Lagos boy
and he had a care free attitude. He cared less about the school
authorities and the stress of living off campus in a private
University. He knew how to make the best out of a terrible
situation. You can count on him to brighten up the day when
every thing looks down. His love for music and crazy selections
earned him a part time job as a Dj in school. He was the
baddest Dj on campus. Topsy, I love you man.

On came along Kyzar aka Don Biggy. He has always been a
business man. He could sell ice to an Eskimo and make him
believe he needs it. He had the words and the carriage to pull
off anything. You can count on him to deliver when every one
was either out or low in cash. Kyzar always has his ways.
You are an inspiration man, and you are dear to me. Continue Reading »

Parklane

In the course of our daily activities, we get so caught up in the
hustle and bustle that we forget the most important things in
our lives. Its not intentional, we just have to work and make
sure we get out of the rat race and unto the fast track where
we do not have to work for money but rather make our
money work for us.

What’s so important that we forget you might ask? To me its
family and friends. There’s a need to keep in touch with our
families and friends. Its ok to let them know how we feel now
rather than when its too late. They are for me the reason why
I do what I do and why I am where I am today.

Today I will talk about a special set of my friends that became
my brothers. We were so close and we stayed in a flat outside
school. We named the house Parklane, however the name was
not a location. It was rather a group of good friends that became
brothers. Continue Reading »

Another tale of Love

It was a busy morning, about 8:30 am, when an elderly
gentleman in his 80s arrived to have stitches removed from his
thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at
9:00am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it
would be over an hour before someone would be able to see
him.

I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I was
not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On
examining it I saw it was well healed, so I talked to one of the
doctors and got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and
redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him
if he had another doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was
in such a hurry. Continue Reading »

A tale of love

I read an interesting story that got me thinking. It reflects some
events that may have occurred in our lives. Not exactly the
same scenario, but something similar. I also heard that its a true
life story, this made it more touching. It goes like this;

A boy and a girl, probably his girlfriend were speeding down the
road on a motorbike. The girl was apparently scared and said, Continue Reading »

Voke’s Circle

I read a book recently that made me understand the different
roles we play as individuals. There are certain unique people
in our lives that we sometimes overlook or undervalue. The
book refers to them as connectors. They are the few people
that actually connect everyone else. The name of the book is
The Tipping Point.

In the book, a sample group was collected from all over
America and they were given letters to send to a particular
person in a particular location. After the research it was
discovered that majority of the letters came in through one
person. This is an example of a connector, one who makes
it his responsibility to know people and keep in touch with
them. Continue Reading »

The girl in my life.

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over.

~George Cooper

I can remember the look on her face when I got back home
and told her I had lost everything. I could see the pain in her
eyes. I never wanted to make her sad, so that look moved
me to tears. Those who have read “All things work together
for good Part 1 & 2″ will have a picture of what I am talking
about. For those who have not, its the story of how I lost all
my credentials. Continue Reading »

Say It Now

It was a Tuesday morning, the weather was perfect and John was
making the best out of what was left of his life. He just returned
from the hospital the week before and was diagnosed of having a
fatal heart disease. He had made up his mind to live the rest of his
life as it comes.

He was walking past a book store and decided to stop and buy a
book. He got there and at the reception he saw a beautiful young
lady. Life immediately got back into him. He was filled with
excitement and went ahead and bought a book. He paid and then
handed it over to the receptionist who then gave him a receipt,
packaged it and gave it back to him. Continue Reading »
