It could arguably be described as the greatest Disney animated
movie of all time. A family drama, that was funny, emotional
and had great animation and songs that got families all over the
world glued to their TV sets. The Lion King was an animated
film watched by almost every home which has loads of lessons
for us to learn. I will like to point out something I learnt from
this movie or Animation.
Let me just do a quick recap of the story line so that we are on
the same page. A young lion prince, Simba is born in Pride Rock,
thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar
plots with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, thus
making himself King. The King is killed and Simba is led to believe
by Scar that it was his fault, and so Simba flees the kingdom in
shame.
In the period he (Simba) was in exile, there was famine in Pride
Rock as a result of mismanagement of resources by scar. After
years of exile Simba is persuaded to return home to overthrow
Scar and claim the kingdom. He succeeded in doing this and his
kingdom was restored to him. And this will lay the foundation for
the point am about to make.
At what point did Simba become the king of Pride Rock? Was
it at the point where he defeated Scar and managed to take back
his kingdom or did he become king when his father, Mufasa died?
The fact is that, Simba became king when his father died. He
however did not know and was therefore unable to take authority
of his kingdom.
We are sometimes caught up in similar situations. The fact that
we do not know the authority we have, we enter the wrong places,
make wrong choices and end up in the wrong jobs and positions.
In reality we ought to be in our Kingdom as kings. Jay-Jay Okocha
would probably not be as widely recognised as he is now if he had
taken up a bank job, Dbanj probably wouldn’t have been popular
today if he were in an oil company.
There are times when the search for who we are takes us to
amazing destinations that we could hardly imagine. We are all
born with a special gift, specifically designed to solve a unique
problem. The minute we find it out, everything changes. You
do not need to struggle to get results, it comes easily. There’s
nothing as bad as living life only to find out that you didn’t fulfill
your purpose. Find your throne and take it, the world awaits
you.

….some very deep stuvs!!
Nice piece. A man without self knowledge is a walking corpse. May we not waste away pursuing others peoples purpose.
Hmn thank you,right on point.
