Political Landscape in the Niger Delta

A lot has happened over the past few weeks in Nigeria. Top
on the list is the recent conviction of the former Governor of
Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion. He was convicted on a
one count charge of corruption by the Federal High court
sitting at Enugu. This brings an end to the case against one of
the ex-Governors who is being prosecuted by the EFCC.

He will forfeit about N503 million and some of his properties.
The question I am asking myself now is, why did he steal so
much from the people who elected him into office (if he was
really elected) and now he has to forfeit everything and have
a stain on his name. A critical look at this scenario shows
that, you stand to loose everything if you are dishonest. Read the rest of this entry »

The Most Beautiful Children On Earth

Its the end of the year again, a time when people will remember
the less privileged in the society and give gifts of food items,
money or any other item that they deem necessary. This is very
commendable and should be encouraged as much as possible.
Some people do not see the need and do not even consider giving.
For some, its a complete waste of time and resources.

Last week, I had an opportunity to be part of a team of the
New Naija Club that went out to make a presentation to some

orphanage homes in Lagos. The Club did this last year along                                                                      with some of her members and this year was no different. It is                                                                   good and necessary for us to give to those who are not as                                                                  privileged as we are. Farming on Gold

I heard a story about a young man who is like most of us. He
had dreams and aspirations to be great and successful in life.
This is a righteous aspiration and every human seeks to live a
better life. He grew up in a village and didn’t have as much
opportunities because his parents where poor, he however
struggled to survive.

His parents died and left him a large parcel of land. This was
his only inheritance. He however was not too happy with the
land because the land was not productive. He could not sow
and harvest any crop like his fellow farmers in the village. His
wife was very depressed and suggested to him that he should
sell the land and move to the city. Read the rest of this entry »

The Long Trip Back Home

I was in Illorin through last week to attend the Rhema Chapel
International convention tagged, “Activating the power of God
in your life”. It was a refreshing time with God and I learnt quite
a lot in the past week. They were a number of guest speakers
including Bishop Fred Addo, Fela Durotoye, Deolu Akinyemi
amongst others. One after the other, they dealt with the topic
from different angles.

I went with some of my colleagues and my boss. We returned
on Saturday or should I say Sunday. We left Illorin on Saturday
afternoon. It was a smooth ride all the way until we got to
Redeemed camp. Lagos is about 25-30 minutes drive from
Redeemed Camp. We got there at about 6:00 pm and then our
journey had just began. Read the rest of this entry »
