Thank You

I woke up 2 days ago to discover that I had a cold. It rained
and I left the air conditioner and the fan in my room on. I
managed to get to work that morning because I thought it was
just normal and I would be better during the day. However
some hours down the line, I discovered that I wont be able to
stay to the end because it wasn’t getting any better.

I left the office and went to get drugs for the cold after which
I went home to rest. I spent the rest of the day at home. I got
up the next day and I was still a little bit down. I called one of
my colleagues and told him I wont be able to make it to work
and decided to stay at home. My weekends are always tight
as we hold seminars and also have training’s during the
weekend. I guessed this was the reason for the cold and
feverish condition.

I slept for a very long time and had the time to reflect on a
couple of things which I will share in the next few lines.
Sometimes we ask God for something, probably a shirt, a
car, a house or a private jet. At that point in time, we seriously
desire it and will do anything to get it. Like children we will be
at our best behaviour to make sure that God fulfils this promise
or gives us what we desire.

The moment we get it, we are elated and thankful, we cannot
wait to let our family and close friends know that we have got it.
This will continue for a while and then the excitement dies down
and we are in search of something else. If you look closely into
your life, you will discover that there is so much to be thankful
for. In the Secret, someone often carried what he called a
“gratitude rock”. This helped him to remember to thank God
for everything he had received at the end of the day.

I thank God for giving me a job that I love doing. I thank Him
for the opportunity to add value to lives on a daily basis. I thank
Him for my family, friends and for everyone reading this now. I
woke up at about 1 p.m and went to work because I was tired of
resting and was grateful for the eye opener. Why don’t you
thank him today
