Rest could be defined as a state or period of refreshing
freedom from exertion.

I was in church today and it was yet again a wonderful and
mind blowing experience. There was a guest speaker who
spoke on faith and how we must believe in God to be able to
do what he said he will accomplish in us as well as through us.
I believe this was a good time to be reminded that indeed God
can and will do all what he said he would do in our lives.

We often get overwhelmed with our day to day activities and
we worry about how we can make ends meet. We forget that
everything we have and everything we work for is actually for
our Creator. He gives and he takes. So why do we worry
about what we will eat and what we will wear. If you check
properly you will find out that everything you ever worried
about was always sorted out in the end by one way or the
other. Our Creator always helps us out.

I was glad I heard this because its relieving to be reminded that
in spite of all that surrounds us and all the negative reports we
have, we could still rest because all is fine or will be. We do not
have to keep worrying about what seems to be the present
situation but rather focus on the fact that God has promised us
that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

This is already apparent in Nigeria. I watched a documentary on
CNN that helped to confirm it. The documentary focussed on
food scarcity. They looked at the effects in other African countries
and there was a distinguishing factor in Nigeria. Unlike other
African countries, Nigeria has a variety of dishes that are based
on various raw materials. This gives us options to choose from
when deciding what to eat.

We are blessed in this Nation. Let us be grateful and thankful
for what we have rather than focusing on what we don’t have.
Let us rest and continue to be the happy and loving people we
have always been.
