I woke up 2 days ago to discover that I had a cold. It rained
and I left the air conditioner and the fan in my room on. I
managed to get to work that morning because I thought it was
just normal and I would be better during the day. However
some hours down the line, I discovered that I wont be able to
stay to the end because it wasn’t getting any better.
I left the office and went to get drugs for the cold after which
I went home to rest. I spent the rest of the day at home. I got
up the next day and I was still a little bit down. I called one of
my colleagues and told him I wont be able to make it to work
and decided to stay at home. My weekends are always tight
as we hold seminars and also have training’s during the
weekend. I guessed this was the reason for the cold and
feverish condition. Read the rest of this entry »

I was in a training over the weekend on Shaped Cd. I learnt
a lot about how Cd’s are made and how they can be
transformed into different shapes to make it unique and a lot
more attractive. There’s a lot that can be done with shaped
Cd’s. From company proposal to concert tickets. The
possibilities are limitless and can only be hindered by the limits
we place on it.
A very key area in Cd production was brought to my
awareness or rather I was reminded of it. It has always been
one of the things I strongly stand against and think everyone
should. It amazes me how people will want to make a living
from stealing and not feel bothered in any way. Read the rest of this entry »

Rest could be defined as a state or period of refreshing
freedom from exertion.
I was in church today and it was yet again a wonderful and
mind blowing experience. There was a guest speaker who
spoke on faith and how we must believe in God to be able to
do what he said he will accomplish in us as well as through us.
I believe this was a good time to be reminded that indeed God
can and will do all what he said he would do in our lives. Read the rest of this entry »

A lot has been said about the Niger Delta and the crisis that
has engulfed the region. Different people giving different
opinions and views on the crisis and possible solutions to
what seems to be a major problem for our nation Nigeria.
One peculiarity about this situation is that all the parties
involved want a solution to the problem….. or so it seems.
Years of neglect from various administrations have left the
region under developed and backward. After years of silence
the youths of the Niger Delta have found what looks like a
workable solution to their problem. What is this solution you
might ask? They have found a way to get the attention of the
Government to listen to them and also earn enough to take
care of their upkeep as well as sustain their struggle.
The oil rich Niger Delta accounts for a major portion of
Nigeria’s revenue. Crude oil which happens to be the main
source of revenue for the nation is gotten from this region. It
is therefore supposed to be developed and well taken care of,
however the reverse is the case. Deibu is a community that is
located in this region which is completely cut off and far from
civilization while the beautiful city of Abuja is illuminated with
beautiful street lights and amazing structures. Read the rest of this entry »

August 2001 was a pivotal date in the history of Nigeria. That
was when the first Global System for Mobile (GSM)
communications call was made under a democratic
government. This event heralded the dawn of a new era, the era
of GSM technology, which has completely changed the face of
doing business in Nigeria.
We have a tendency to forget things easily. When I say we, I
mean Nigerian’s. Can you imagine that seven (7) years ago
we could not communicate as easily as we can now? You
have to own a land line to make a call or stand endlessly on
a NITEL queue to make a call. A lot has changed since then,
we now make calls at cheaper rates and in much more
convenient circumstances. Read the rest of this entry »

Our state of mind will go a long way in determining how we
view things. The story that follows will show how this young
man thinks;
John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a
good mood and always has something positive to say. When
someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply,
‘If I were any better, I would be twins’. He was a natural
motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, John was
there telling the employee how to look on the positive side
of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up
and asked him, ‘I don’t get it, you can’t be a positive person all
of the time. How do you do it?’ He replied, ‘Each morning I wake
up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can
choose to be in a good mood or … you can choose to be in a
bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood.’ Each time something
bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or…I can choose to
learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes
to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or… I
can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.
‘Yeah, right, it’s not that easy,’ I protested. ‘Yes, it is,’ he said. Read the rest of this entry »

I read an interesting story that I think makes a lot of sense
to me. I thought I should share it with you. It goes like this;
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid
from my class walking home from school. His name was Kyle.
It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to
myself, “Why would anyone bring home all his books on a
Friday?” He must really be a nerd. I had quite a weekend
planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow
afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.
As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and
tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying,
and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He
looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart
went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around
looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed
him his glasses, I said, “Those guys are jerks. They really should
get lives”. Read the rest of this entry »

I watched an amazing 5 minute video today. Believe me,
those five minutes were so inspiring that you could write a
book about it. It was a video about a woman without arms.
She is married to a man who I believe loves her just the way
she is and guess what….she has a child.
The first thought that came to my mind was that, what does
her husband think about her. He loves her and says she’s
very beautiful and determined. Then the next question was,
how will she raise a child without arms? Well as I watched
this was quickly answered. Read the rest of this entry »

The previous week saw a decline in both the market
capitalization and the all share index. The market recorded
a turnover of 5.77 billion units of shares exchanged among
investors for N42.12 billion Naira in 88,146 deals.
The banking sector was responsible for most of the activity
in the market accounting for 71.84% of all transactions. The
insurance sector came behind accounting for 26% of the
activity after being highly traded last week. The price of the
stocks in the insurance sub- sector where low hence the low
turnover in value and high turnover in volume

I have observed that the darkest part of the night is when its
almost dawn. I have heard people say this over and over
again. You could be facing a particular situation and it seems
that there is no end or no solution. When it seems all hope is
lost is the right time to have faith.
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen”
