Resolving The Crash

resolution.jpg

I got home that night asking so many questions. How did I
attract this and why me o? I thought of many scenario’s and
in the process, I slept of. Funny enough I dreamt that night
of fixing the car and it was at the man’s expense. I woke up
feeling tired because I had to get to work that morning.

I got up thanked God for yet another day and got ready for
work. I left the house still feeling weak and found my way to
the office. Immediately I got into the office, my colleague who
was with me the previous day asked me if I had heard from
the man and his wife. The answer was negative. I was about
preparing for a meeting when my phone rang…

The man called me and said, “Is this Mr Emore” and I said yes.
He asked of an uncle of mine that lived somewhere in Isolo,
Lagos and said, “I am your cousin”. This was a startling
revelation. He gave me his address and asked me to come so
that we can sort it out. I left the office and headed for his
house.

I found the address and went in to his house. He was cooling
off with some rum, and looked at me and apologized for what
had happened the previous night. His words went like this

“O boy the drink don clear from my eye o,
the damage na die”

We talked and traced how we were related, his mom is a
sister to my Uncle’s wife (my auntie). He asked for an
estimate of what it will cost and I told him to do whatever
he can. I guess it was only fair we shared the expenses.
He told me something else that taught me a lot.

He asked me to take things easy and not drink so much
like him. He also said my word should be my bond, that’s
what matters in life. Then he asked if I was married, and
I should take care of the woman in my life. It was an
interesting visit in all. He signed a cheque and told me to
make sure we saw once a month, that was our pact.

I confirmed my belief that actually some women are so
caring and understanding. In spite of all that happened, his
wife was the one who intervened and made sure it did not
end up as a police case. She made sure his car and the Golf
were safely towed to their house and also got him home safely.
She stood by him and made sure she handled the situation. I
guess these events were meant to teach me few lessons and
enable me meet new people.

Indeed all things work together for good.
