We need the power.

During his campaign, one of the cardinal points of our President’s seven
point agenda was the declaration of a national emergency on
power. This was a relief to a lot of Nigerians. The fact that in
spite of the hardship Nigerians undergo, we can go home at
night and have power to at least sleep with the air conditioner
or fan on. Its not the big things that will bring the change we
desire but the little things that seem insignificant.
How does this affect our economy? There is so much that
can be achieved if we solve the problem of the power sector.
Almost all businesses run on diesel and alternative power
supply. This makes the cost of production increase. Interest
rates increase, house financing, banking and everything in
between. So what can be done about this?
The on going probe of the power sector has brought some
startling revelation. The fact that about $16bn has been spent
on the sector without result is bad enough. However, it doesn’t
stop there. Many of the contractors where over paid, some
never showed up, while some just put up a structure on site
to make it look as if they were working . How deep does the
rabbit hole go? Are we going to uncover more and the people
behind this evil? So many questions, yet not many answers.
Is it sane to divert funds meant for development without even
the slightest guilt or fear? It amazes me how individuals can
do this comfortably without any problem. How much can be
equated to a good name? My ability to raise my head high
without fear of wrong doing is much more important than
money. The process of making money is more important than
the money. You have to do it right.
I look forward to that day when there will be uninterrupted
power supply for one whole month all over the country, and a
subsequent celebration of 10 years without a blink. This might
sound like a dream, but its just around the corner. When it
happens, we will adjust automatically to it. This will affect our
economy positively. The entrance of light certainly chases away
the darkness. If there is light on a street, robbery and other ills
will be limited.
The House of Representatives has brought hope to Nigerians.
All that has been spent is more than what is required to bring
the power sector back to life. History beckons on them as
well as this administration to do the right thing.

Thats true,we hope they do what they are supposed to.by the way nice pic u posted with the post.
I pray that new things like the probe continue in this country, and also i really cant wait to see how this probe will end. Because people (important ones) are yet to be arrested?
