What is in stock?
The past week has been exciting, on Saturday was another
edition of the financial intelligence course – Billionaire-in-Training.
I learnt something new this time around that I will like to share
with you. During the training, one of the participants while playing
Cashflow was able to double his money plus the money he
collected from the bank using shares as his investment vehicle.
This event opened my eyes to a number of opportunities around.
There are shares in the Nigerian stock market that have done a
100% between the first quarter of this year. You could maximize
the opportunities that are available in the stock market alone. All
it takes is for you to follow the trend and make informed decisions.
I am particularly interested in the petroleum sector so lets look
at Oando shares. The price went up with the news of the company
securing some oil blocs. In the past week, Oando and Mobil where
the top price gainers. This was as a result of the recent impressive
audited result of both company’s. There is no rocket science required
to be able to know the trend.
For Chevron and Conoil, last week was not so good. They have not
released their audited result and this made them looser’s in the week
past. Eterna oil and gas witnessed little activity in the past week.
Following this trend can give you the leverage to trade on stocks in
the Nigerian stock market.
Another exciting industry is the mortgage industry. Mortgage is becoming
more popular in Nigeria. The Lagos state Government is working on
Mortgages for senior civil servants and banks have made it available
to interested individuals. There is only one company listed in the mortgage
sector of the Nigerian stock exchange. Union homes savings and loans
plc were also price gainers as a result of the release of their audited result.
Since more people are getting to know and participate in mortgages, this
will always be a good buy depending on the management of the company.
Same goes for all other company’s listed. With a good management team,
a company will definitely appreciate in value. We should get involved in
these opportunities for the knowledge as well as financial gain.
