I read a book recently that made me understand the different
roles we play as individuals. There are certain unique people
in our lives that we sometimes overlook or undervalue. The
book refers to them as connectors. They are the few people
that actually connect everyone else. The name of the book is
The Tipping Point.
In the book, a sample group was collected from all over
America and they were given letters to send to a particular
person in a particular location. After the research it was
discovered that majority of the letters came in through one
person. This is an example of a connector, one who makes
it his responsibility to know people and keep in touch with
them. Read the rest of this entry »

It was an interesting weekend for me. I re-united with my
family and had interesting conversations with my brothers. I
had not been with them for so long, we only communicated
on phone. I was excited because it afforded me the
opportunity to learn a lot and share some of my experiences
as well as the current opportunities that are
available.
The main reason for the season was the death of Jesus for
us on the cross which is the reason why we can live a life of
fulfillment and abundance. Christ took upon Himself all our
sins and paid the price for us to be free. Sometimes we really
should think about this sacrifice. It will help us see things
differently and most of our actions might also be affected by
the thought of how a sinless man had so much compassion to
give himself as a sacrifice to set us free from sin. Read the rest of this entry »
I am presently in Delta State spending the Easter with my family.
It it fun being back home. I did not plan to come but changed
my mind along the line. I decided to surprise my mom. She had
no idea that I was coming nor did anybody else. My grandmother
wanted to find out why anyone would work on good Friday and
Easter Sunday, still don’t know how to explain it to her. So when
my brother and I showed up, we could see the excitement in her
eyes.
I went through a couple of seminars last week that exposed a lot
to me. You will be amazed at the opportunities that exist around
you if you could open your eyes to see them. All big things that
exist today started small, trees start as seeds. Big things are also
controlled by little things, little hinges swing giant vaults. And when
great things happen, only a few people are aware of it first. Read the rest of this entry »

It was the annual general meeting and induction for all sales
executive of the company. It was a mixture of both the old
school and the new recruits who had just been taken into the
company as sales executives. It was an exciting atmosphere
as the young sales executives had the opportunity to hear and
learn from the older ones.
There was also something special about this meeting. A man
considered as the greatest sales man ever, having consistently
had the highest sales for the past 20 years, the “big cheese”
was going to speak. There was excitement in the air. Everyone
was eager to hear what he was going to say. Read the rest of this entry »

The world is full of varieties. Diverse people and cultures. This
makes life so exciting and adventurous. There is so much out .
there to explore and discover. One can go over a lifetime
discovering amazing new things. A friend of mine told me a
story about an interesting culture of a particular tribe of Indians
that I like to share with you.
The Legend describes how a Cherokee Indian youth passes
from being a boy to becoming a man. In order to pass the test,
the boy’s father takes him to the middle of the forest just before
night fall. He then blind folds him and leaves him alone in that
forest to spend the night all by himself. Read the rest of this entry »

“To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the
day, thou canst not then be false to any man.”
William Shakespeare
I can remember in October 1999 when I was writing my G.C.E
in Warri, Delta State. I had finished my S.S.C.E in June and
was still waiting for my result so I decided to write the GCE
to keep myself busy. I had written one in 1998 and made 4
papers so all I needed was mathematics to be able to get into
university with a good jamb score. Read the rest of this entry »
A wealthy king from somewhere in Africa, Nigeria to be
precise, had all the pleasures available to a king, but he
desired something different. He desired it so much that he
called one of his special adviser and said,”I want to eat
fresh fish”.
His special adviser immediately summoned all the top
rated fishermen and told them to get the best fish for the
king. The fishermen set out to sea and did what they were
good at, getting the best of different specie of fish. They
caught them and killed them and brought them back to the
palace. Read the rest of this entry »

Several years ago, a preacher from another state accepted a
call to a church in Lagos, Nigeria. Some weeks after he
arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home on
the mainland to the island for a seminar. He paid for the fare
and was handed his change by the conductor.
When he sat down, he discovered that the conductor had
accidentally given him a hundred Naira extra change. As he
considered what to do, he thought to himself, “You’d better
give the money back. It would be wrong to keep it.” Read the rest of this entry »
Life can be seen as one big cycle. It has been like that for
a long time and it seems things might just be changing. I
remember growing up and wishing to join this vicious cycle.
Most of us might have been on the same path, and the
society collaborates with us to make this cycle continue. Read the rest of this entry »
